Goertek Technology Industrial Park Groundbreaking Ceremony

In the morning on May 16th, the groundbreaking ceremony for Goertek's newest Technology Industrial Park was held in Laoshan District, Qingdao. Wang Guangzheng (Vice Mayor of Qingdao), Jiang Duntao (District Chief of Laoshan District), Wang Qingyaun (Deputy District Chief of Laoshan) as well as other leaders from: The Municipal Informatization Committee, The Municipal Technology Bureau, The Municipal Urban and Rural Construction Committee, The Municipal Land Resources and Housing Administrative Bureau and The Municipal Planning Bureau attend the meeting. The leaders from Qingdao and Bryan (Jiang Bin, Goertek's Chairman) laid the foundation for the new industrial park.

Goertek Technology Industry Project is located in Laoshan District, east of the Coastal Highway and north of Tianshui Road, which is invested and constructed by Goertek. The total investment is 2.1 billion yuan, will be mainly used for the construction of innovative R&D base. This Project is an important strategic layout of Goertek, focusing on VR industry, IC chip industry, MEMS and sensor industry, wearable computer industry, drone industry and intelligent robot industry.

Wang Qingyuan, the deputy district chief of Laoshan district, stated in the ceremony that as another strategic arrangement of Goertek, this project will make full use of the advantages of Qingdao, which possessed a leading position in the blue economic zone of Shandong peninsula. and it is in line with the blue silicon valley development plan of Qingdao. This project will focus on the frontier in electronic information industry and scale up the development. Thus the regional resource advantage of Qingdao and Goertek's advantages in technology and brand will be integrated and boost both economic and social benefits.

Goertek Chairman Bryan said, the project relies on the advantages of Laoshan District, aiming to establish a global R&D and intelligent manufacturing center, as well as an innovation base to lead the future trend. Goertek will create an emerging industry cluster to promote industrial upgrading and regional economic development of Qingdao and Laoshan. With the support of Laoshan district government, Goertek is actively cooperating with excellent research institutes, recruiting high-level scientific and technological talents, to accelerate the growing pace of becoming a world-class electronic information enterprise.

The construction plan of the project is divided into two phases. The first phase is expected to be finished by 2018. and the second one will be implemented during 2018 and 2020.
